- Public Domain
- Almost all of the text on the CharityScorecard.org site is in the public domain.
- Contributor Agreement
- Each contributor to Charity Scorecard agrees to only add text which was either (a) copied from a work which is already in the public domain, (b) written by the contributor on their own time (not as a work for hire) and placed in the public domain by the contributor, or (c) written by the contributor as a work for hire and placed in the public domain by the contributor's employer.
- Fallback
- In some countries it may not be legally possible to place work in the public domain. In that case, the contributors grant anyone the right to use their contributed work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law.
- Terms of Service
- To see the Charity Scorecard contributor agreement, visit the Terms of Service page.
- MediaWiki software
- The MediaWiki software used to run this site is not itself in the public domain, and while the content within the pages is in the public domain, the borders of the pages are not in the public domain, nor are the MediaWiki logo, the MediaWiki error message pages, or the other text and images supplied with the MediaWiki software.
- GNU FDL and CC licenses
- Some pages may include text which is available under the terms of a Creative Commons license or the GNU Free Documentation License -- when a page has text that is not the public domain, the page will include information about the license terms under which the content is available.
